Versions

This documentation is hosted on Read the Docs (opens in a new tab), in several versions. Pick one in the version menu of Read the Docs (the flyout in the corner of the page).

Read the documentation version that matches the version of the packages you use.

Documentation versions

  • stable (from 2.0.0 on): the newest release. Read this version if you install the packages without a version (e.g. npm install @elixir-cloud/design), which installs the npm dist-tag latest. Once 2.0.0 is out, stable is the default version.
  • latest: the dev branch, the work done since the newest release. It may or may not be part of a future release. Read it if you contribute to the components or try unreleased changes.
  • Tagged versions (e.g. v2.0.0-alpha.49): one version per release, including prereleases, as of its tag v<version>. Read the one that matches the version in your package.json. Until 2.0.0 is out, the newest tag is the default version.

npm and branches

Documentation Branch or tag npm dist-tag
stable main latest
latest dev (none)
v<version> tag v<version> the dist-tag of that release
  • All public @elixir-cloud/* packages share one version and are released together, from tags on dev. After a release, main is moved to the release; stable is built from the newest release tag.
  • The npm dist-tag latest holds the newest release: npm install @elixir-cloud/design installs it.
  • Until 2.0.0 is out, the 2.0.0 prereleases (2.0.0-alpha.N) are published with the dist-tag latest, as there is no 2.x release yet. From 2.0.0 on, prereleases get the dist-tag next (npm install @elixir-cloud/design@next), so latest stays on the newest release.

Maintainers: see "Releases" in CONTRIBUTING.md (opens in a new tab) for the Read the Docs settings that change with the 2.0.0 release.
